The opera “Carmen” thrills again in the heart of the Costa del Sol and surrounded by the beauty of Anantara Villa Padierna.

Benahavís, May 3, 2025. – Art returns to beat strongly in the heart of the Costa del Sol. This summer, the amphitheater of Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavís Marbella Resorta member of The Leading Hotels of the is once again transformed into an unparalleled lyrical stage to host one of the most beloved operas of all time: Carmenby Georges Bizet, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year.

After the resounding success of last summer, the production returns with its “Boutique Opera” format, by Classical Passion Productions, and under the artistic direction of musician and cultural manager Anabel Sánchez. The inaugural event will take place on June 12, and will continue on July 3 and 24, August 14 and 28, and September 18.

The work, a 75-minute stage adaptation focusing on the most famous arias and duets, is performed by a talented cast: Carmen Serrano (mezzo-soprano), Manuel de Diego (tenor), Andrés Pérez Merino (baritone) and Carolina de Alba (soprano), with piano accompaniment by Tomasso Cogato and Manuel Bracho.

The version proposes an intimate, lively and close approach to Carmen, reviving universal melodies such as the Habanera, the Seguidilla, the copla del Toreador or the aria La fleur que tu m’avais jetéethat have crossed generations.
