Benavís/Marbella, August 1, 2023 – On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Picasso, the governments of France and Spain have agreed on an international program through their cultural administrations that includes exhibitions and events on the work of the painter from Malaga.
The hotels Anantara Villa Padierna Palace Benahavís Marbella Resort y Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel have wanted to join this celebration by presenting a collection of experiences inspired by Picasso to show the life and work of one of the most influential artists of the 20th century and co-founder of Cubism.

Anantara Villa Padierna Palace is located in an extraordinary enclave, surrounded by three golf courses, a lake and a Roman amphitheater.
Its interior houses more than 1,200 works of art, distributed among its 125 rooms and villas, and the common areas of the hotel.
The experience “Luxury Retreat: a palatial stay inspired by Picasso” aims to discover the close relationship that the painter had with Malaga, being this city by the Mediterranean, where he was born and spent his childhood, and to whose memories he continued to be linked over the years.
The program includes a two-night stay with spa, themed dinners and a revealing tour of the town that explores its origins and shows the key locations in the artist’s childhood and his creative philosophy.
The itinerary organized by Malaga begins with a guided visit to the Picasso Museum, which has more than 230 paintings, sculptures, drawings, graphic works and ceramics.
It also includes stops at outstanding places such as the Plaza de la Merced, where Picasso’s childhood home is still located; or the church of Santiago, where the great artist was baptized.
The tour concludes at the Alcazaba, a palatial Moorish fortress with spectacular views of the city.
There, at the El Pimpi restaurant, in whose attic the young Picasso drew the ubiquitous doves in his work, guests will enjoy a Picasso-themed tasting menu.
The package also includes a relaxing massage at the Anantara spa and a private dinner at the hotel, where they will be able to taste the recipes of the great master’s favorite dishes in a unique atmosphere.
