JOSÉ CARLOS GARCÍA PRESENTS IN MALAGA HIS BOOK “ANDALUSIAN ROOTS”.

The book of the Malaga chef José Carlos García discovers the Andalusian recipe book through 62 recipes commented by the author.

Malaga, October 23, 2024.- José Carlos García presents the book “Raíces andaluzas” where we discover 62 recipes commented by the author, through 256 pages. The chef from Málaga challenges the traditional Andalusian recipes with his technique and small doses of daring. Always with an eye to the sea, José Carlos García bases his cuisine on the use of local products from the fish market or the market, although he also draws inspiration from everything he has discovered on his travels to create his dishes. Ninety percent of his gastronomic proposal comes from his land and the other ten percent is the result of his travels.

The restaurant that bears his name, located in the Port of Malaga, in the neighborhood of La Malagueta, is the first establishment in the city to obtain a Michelin star. The chef’s cuisine fuses traditional Malaga products with avant-garde touches, offering a magnificent gastronomic experience in a privileged setting. Located next to the unique Chapel of the Virgen del Carmen, José Carlos García Restaurant opens its large windows in front of the yacht mooring and with the monumental backdrop of the Alcazaba and the Cathedral.

Passionate about Andalusian cuisine and local produce, José Carlos García maintains daily contact with the Atarazanas market and his trusted suppliers. His cuisine is sincere and in constant evolution, the result of what he learned in the family business of Café de París and his experience at the head of his personal project for almost a decade. His culinary proposal reflects his own personality, a successful mix between loyalty to his roots, respect for the classicism of the family heritage and, as he himself says, “a touch of Rock & Roll”.
