José Carlos García: 15 Years of Cooking by the Sea

José Carlos García is embarking on a new chapter and is marking his departure from the current location with a one-of-a-kind menu that encapsulates 15 years of history in Málaga
Available from June through August, this unique offering brings together some of the most iconic dishes from his career in an experience that will never be repeated

Málaga, June 12, 2026. – After 15 years at its current location, José Carlos García’s restaurant will soon embark on a new chapter at Café de París, the iconic family-run establishment where he began his career as a chef. The new space, located just a few meters from the current restaurant, next to the Pompidou Museum and in the same La Malagueta neighborhood, will allow the chef to continue developing his cuisine in Málaga while maintaining his connection to the sea and the surroundings that have shaped his career. Far from viewing this as a simple move, José Carlos García is turning this moment into an opportunity to look back and celebrate everything he has experienced in this space facing the Port of Málaga, through a final menu that will never be repeated.

During the months of June, July, and August, diners can enjoy a special menu celebrating 15 years, designed as a journey through his culinary career, in the very setting where he has developed a cuisine deeply rooted in the sea and the region.

15 years of cooking by the sea

Against the backdrop of an unchanging landscape—the Mediterranean—José Carlos García draws a sharp contrast: there are experiences that, once they end, disappear forever.

“This menu is a way to celebrate everything we’ve experienced here. We didn’t want it to be just a farewell, but an experience that truly represents these past 15 years—an evolution that has gone hand in hand with the city of Málaga itself, with our customers, and with our trusted suppliers. There are dishes that are part of our history and that will never be served again. That makes this moment even more special.”
